Russell Westbrook’s agent confirms he will play with the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA

Jeff Schwartz, Russell Westbrook’s agent, confirmed to ESPN that his client will join the Los Angeles Clippers. According to the information, the transaction will be completed after Westbrook and Utah Jazz complete the purchase of the remaining $47 million of debt.

The point guard was interested in teams such as the Chicago Bills, the Washington Wizards and the Miami Heat. However, the Clippers’ interest came to fruition when several players and franchise members such as coach Tyronne Liu and basketball president Lawrence Frank began negotiations with the nine-time All-Star. This was reported by sources informed by ESPN.

Apparently, the negotiations discussed what would be the role and importance of Westbrook in the Clippers and the manner of play. One of the reasons why the offer was compelling was the real possibility of not only staying in Los Angeles, but also competing for the championship.

Thus, the 34-year-old will join the Los Clippers to fight for the NBA ring with his former teammate Paul George. Remember, the Lakers traded Russell in the first round of 2027 to the Utah in a three-way deal.

Westbrook then decided to take a break to assess his chances after becoming the Lakers’ sixth man, where he averaged 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28.7 minutes per game.
