Nate Diaz surrendered to police this Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued for him on suspicion of second-degree assault after participating in a street fight outside a nightclub in New Orleans.
According to MMA Fighting, information was posted by Zach Rosenfield, a spokesperson for the former UFC fighter, via press release.
“Nate voluntarily turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department at approximately 7:10 this morning. Connecticut. We are still waiting to submit everything evidence and video showing that Nate acted in self-defense”, he pointed out.
The charge that Nate Diaz is accused of is a felony in Louisiana and punishable by imprisonment for up to eight years “with or without hard labor” and a $2,000 fine, or both.

The New Orleans Police Department, after examining the facts, issued an arrest warrant for Diaz on suspicion of second-degree assault, and he turned himself in to authorities this Thursday.
