“Maybe I don’t understand boxing”: Lomachenko first commented on the defeat from Haney

The fight with American Devin Haney at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas lasted 12 rounds. Vasily Lomachenko is confident that the judges undeserved victory to his opponent.

Former three league world champion Vasily Lomachenko made the first statements about the fight with Devin Haney, the owner of the WBO, WBC, IBF, WBA championships. During the press conference, Lomachenko could not answer the question why the jury chose his opponent. Reported by Top Rank Boxing.

At the same press conference, he said that he would object to the outcome of his fight with the manager of Ukrainian boxer Egis Klimas, Devin Haney.

Egis Klimas said, “It was the biggest robbery. We will not leave it like this and we will protest. Because someone needs to return boxing to its original form.”

Vasily Lomachenko himself said that when he entered the 12th round, he realized that he could “give” him to his opponent because he had performed well in the previous rounds.

“Because I don’t need him, because I won in round 11. ‘Understand boxing’ – said the Ukrainian.

He also noted that he did not understand why the victory was given to his opponent.

“What do I have to do to get the judges to choose me? That’s a good question. I don’t know. When I fight, when I’m in my corner after every round, I realize: ‘Okay, that’s my round, ”Lomachenko said.

According to him, he managed to break through Haney’s defense in the 10th round, but he also realized that he had to stick to his strategy. The topic of a “dirty” fight came up several times at the press conference. However, Lomachenko said that she did not agree with this and did not believe that she was acting dishonestly.

After the defeat, Lomachenko could not contain her emotions and burst into tears in the dressing room. She said she was “emotional” as her son called her several times, confident that her father would win.

Devin Haney himself said that he was sure of his victory. And before fighting Lomachenko, he studied his strategy and realized that after the blows he received on the body, he disappeared. Therefore, Haney focused on this tactic during the war.
