Britain’s longest-reigning Queen. Elizabeth would have turned 97 on April 21. To honor the late monarch, Catherine, Princess of Wales, today posted on her official social media page a photo taken in the summer of 2022, a few months before Her Majesty’s death, at her beloved Balmoral Castle (Scotland).
The frame is the work of Kate Middleton, who often takes portraits of her children and other members of the royal family. The photograph shows the Queen’s younger grandchildren: Lady Louise Windsor, 19, and her 15-year-old brother, the Earl of Wessex. The Sovereign sits next to Mike and Zara Tindall’s eldest daughter Mia, who holds her younger brother Lucas in her arms. The Queen’s eldest granddaughter, Savannah Phillips, sits right next to her great-grandmother.
Also standing are Lena Tindall (4), Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7), Isla Phillips (11) and Prince Louis (4).
The frame does not include the two-year-old son of Princess Eugenie Augusta Brooksbank and the one-year-old daughter of Princess Beatrice Sienna Mapelli Mozzi and the three-year-old children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. -old Prince Archie and one-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Earlier, a poignant tribute to Her Majesty appeared on the royal family accounts – a photograph of the radiant Queen present at the solemn ceremony at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh last June.

Queen Elizabeth died in Balmoral on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96. The Queen’s final resting place is the King George VI Memorial Chapel, where her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, is also buried.
