The International Federation of Blind Sports has suspended Russia’s membership

The Executive Council of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) has suspended the membership of Russia and Belarus in the organization. This is reported on the IBSA website.

The IBSA Executive Board confirms that it will respect and support the decision of the IPC General Assembly recently held in Bahrain to partially suspend the membership of Russia and Belarus for a two-year period“, the message says.

In addition, it is noted that athletes from Russia are allowed to participate in neutral status in international competitions and the Paralympics in Paris.

This was already reported at the end of September.

Let us remind you that the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the XVII Summer Paralympic Games – from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
