The head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, did not create the Olympic movement, but he may kill it. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in an interview with Sport Express.
“It is difficult to understand what he is talking about. What autonomy? What relevance? The Olympic movement was not created by Bach, but, apparently, Bach could be killed,” – said the Russian diplomat.
This is how Zakharova commented on Thomas Bach’s statement that the International Olympic Committee recognizes the influence of politics on the organization’s activities.
The head of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, previously stated that the International Olympic Committee openly supports one of the parties to the political conflict and is consistently implementing the order to isolate Russian sports.
