Stellantis is implementing a plan to achieve reorganize its dealer network in Europe which started over a year ago. A group led by Carlos Tavares provided more information on this transformation process. According to reports, the new structure will start from July 2023 and it will be from Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

AGENCY MODEL

The group emphasizes that environmental and regulatory changes are impacting the industry’s distribution model, driving a number of different brands to electrification. As announced during Stellantis Electric Vehicle Day in July 2021, all Stellantis brands aim to reach 100% of European passenger car sales with battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by the end of 2030. Starting in 2025, the company will release exclusively 100% electric models for the luxury and premium segments, and then extend the offer to the entire model range. It is important to note that starting From 2026, only BEVs will be produced in Europe.

Stellantis’ goal is to lead this change by allowing its network to adapt early enough in the face of increasing competition from new players.

Therefore, Stellantis will focus on the so-called “modeling agency”, in which car manufacturers will also take over the negotiations with customers, contracts and the financial part. Dealerships, on the other hand, will mainly deal with delivery and assistance. In practice, they will become a kind of intermediary between the brand and the customer.

Stellatis is certainly not the first automotive group to overhaul its distribution network. According to him, this transformation will benefit both customers and the dealerships themselves. Uwe Hochgeshurtzchief operating officer of Stellantis.

The vision of Stellantis is to promote a sustainable distribution model and all stakeholders will benefit from these changes that will focus on the customer experience. Customers will benefit from a multi-brand, multi-channel approach with a wider range of services. Dealerships will have a new and impactful business model designed to leverage Stellantis’ portfolio of 14 brands, create synergies, optimize distribution costs and offer complementary solutions for sustainable mobility. Our partners play an important role in representing our brands locally.
