Drone DJI Mini 3 may be another model in the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: device characteristics

DJI combines the best of two drones in one model, the DJI Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro.

Chinese manufacturer DJI is preparing to launch the Mini 3 quadcopter, which combines the advantages of the previous best models. New details have been revealed on the TechRadar portal.

According to analysts, the DJI Mini 3 is a cross between the DJI Mini 2 (2020) and the Mini 3 Pro (August 2022). The innovation is much better than the Mini 2 due to the large sensor camera, high-quality vertical video and 38 minutes of flight time. DJI Mini 3 is compatible with the DJI RC Controller, which has a built-in display that does not require a smartphone to be connected.

If we compare the Mini 3 Pro, the new drone has lost its obstacle detection sensors and the OcuSync 3.0 system for transmitting high-definition video at 12 km, consisting of an Air Unit module, three antennas and additional connectors. The DJI Mini 3 received an older DJI O2 system with less range and reliability. The drone has the same 1/1.3 inch CMOS sensor camera as the Mini 3 Pro, but it cannot shoot 4K/60p video (max 4K/30p) and its data rate is limited to 100Mbps.

The DJI Mini 3 will launch on November 22 for $469 (base), halfway between the Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro. The Mini 2 kit with DJI RC-N1 controller goes on sale for $449, the Mini 3 kit for $559, and the Mini 3 Pro kit for $759.

DJI has also brought back the “Fly More Combo” kits for the Mini 3. These kits include additional items such as two batteries, a spare propeller, a charger, and a shoulder bag. On the Mini 3 Pro, the “Fly More Pro” option was an optional extra, but on the Mini 3, the controller and additional accessories can be purchased for less in a single set for $718.

We previously wrote that DJI is selling refurbished Mini 3 Pro drones at a discounted price. The company gives a guarantee, but warns that the cases of the devices may be scratched or damaged.

In November, DJI launched a sizable quadcopter, the Mavic 3 Multispectral. It has two cameras for high-quality aerial photography: RGB with 20 megapixel sensors and multi-spectral with four lenses.
