The student’s idea is to take advantage of the discarded material to give it an effective use. by converting it into a fuel that also has a very low cost, which is extremely important given today’s high fuel prices.
Alvarez explained that one of his reasons for developing this type of technology is to try to help solve the problem caused by pollution caused by discarded plastic that is not recycled.
He explained that the process of implementing his idea requires several steps, as it is a complex task.That’s why the first thing he did was a model of how the system works. After that, he set about developing a mechanism by which he could automate and control in such a way that he could speed up the process as much as possible.
This was all done after doing an in-depth investigation to find out what type of plastic he should be using to achieve his goal. (polyethylene of high and low density and polypropylene). He also had to conduct an investigation to find out the temperature that the plastic must reach in order to be converted into fuel through various processes.
“The condensing temperature of the gases emitted by the project is also a subject of study, and they are placed at intervals. I researched automation materials, temperature sensors that I was going to use, cooling systems,” he explained.
He said that although he has not yet decided on how he will proceed, he hopes that he will be able to patent his invention or even sell it. into a multinational company that can implement technology to improve the plastic recycling process.
“Obviously, this can be transferred to a more industrial enterprise, this can be done in general terms. There will be no support or sponsorship of the company or anyone who finances it,” he added.
