Mercedes-AMG SL 63, Motorsport Collectors Edition debuts January 12, 2023 5

For Mercedes, the 2022 Formula 1 season has certainly not been full of fun. Despite this, the German car manufacturer wanted to create a special version of the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 to celebrate the past season of the F1 World Championship. Thus debuting a new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Motorsport Collector’s Edition which is characterized by a series of aesthetic details and special content.

This special model will be made only 100 copies. Prices are not disclosed. For the livery, Mercedes was inspired by the livery of the single-seat Formula 1 car. The body is characterized by a metallic paint finish with a color gradation of obsidian silver to black combined with a series of “Petronas Green” contrasting details.

We also find 21-inch AMG 10-twin-spoke forged wheels with a matte black finish and Petronas green details. Also standard is the AMG Aerodynamic package with a new front splitter and other aerodynamic details that not only make the exterior look more aggressive, but also improve the car’s aerodynamic load. Also the standard AMG Night and AMG Night II packages which add a series of glossy black details to the car.

The brake calipers are also black. Inside the roadster AMG sports seats in black nappa leather/microfibre with red or yellow stitching and embossed AMG emblem on the headrests. There are also a number of carbon fiber parts and a heated AMG Performance steering wheel.

Also part of the standard equipment is the Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, MBUX system, head-up display and all the most advanced driver assistance systems developed by Mercedes. However, there are no changes in the mechanics. Therefore, we always find an AMG 4-litre bi-turbo V8 capable of delivering 430 kW (585 hp) of power with 800 Nm of torque. The maximum speed reaches i 315 km/hand acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.6 seconds.
