Thanks to March 2023 results in the first three months of the year There were 427,019 vehicles registered against 338,316 between January and March 2022. This is a 26.2% improvement. However, we are still far from the pre-pandemic level of 2019 when 538,060 vehicles were registered in the first three months of the year (-20.6%).

Expanding on the results of the Italian automotive market for March 2023, on the user side all sales channels are growing. Individuals receive a 50.7% share, while self-registration stops at 8.6%. Long-term leasing reaches 27.4% of the total market volume, while the share of short-term leasing is 7.5%. Companies also grew with a share of 6.2% per month.

In terms of engines, petrol models rose to 28.4% market share, while diesel models fell to 20.3% market share. On the other hand, LPG can expect a market share of 7.6%, while methane is limited to only 0.1% market share. The share of electric models increased to 4.8%, and plug-in modules to 4.3%. Overall, “battery cars” account for 9.1% of the market. HEV hybrids still perform very well with a total market share of 34.5%, with 9.4% being full hybrids and 25.1% being mild hybrids.

Talking about car groups, Stellantis closed March 2023 up 36.94%. Volkswagen Group also performed well with +35.72%. The Renault Group also performed well with a 26.43% increase.
