“See” any stealth aircraft: a new version of the Twinvis radar is presented (video)

This radar system operates from a container and requires no operator intervention to detect targets.

German defense company Hensoldt has introduced a new version of its Twinvis passive deployable radar. The new variant, known as the Twinvis Military Sheltered, is fully integrated into the containerized shelter and can be used for long-range aerial reconnaissance.

The radar can be easily deployed on military vehicles and can be set up in the field with just two people. Twinvis is also fully automated, meaning that the operator does not need to constantly monitor radar activity in the field or operate it manually.

The company said Twinvis acts as a receiver and detects targets by evaluating echoes from third-party transmitters.

“Our fully automated, intelligent signal processing and sensor data fusion gives the armed forces the unique ability to conduct long-range covert operations for a wide range of targets, including covert threats,” said company spokesman Markus Rothmeier.

Twinvis has many operational advantages, including the ability to remain undetected due to the absence of any transmitted energy. This feature makes it nearly impossible for the system to intercept enemy EW systems or eliminate artillery point strikes. In addition, Twinvis can detect enemy stealth planes, which are impossible to detect with conventional radars, from a distance of 250 km, thanks to stealth technology.

Previously Focus He said the US military has received new radars against missiles and UAVs for review. Each LTAMDS system from RTX Corporation will cost the military 20 million, and the radars will be tested next year.

And Italian engineers presented the super-sensitive Kronos radar, which will strengthen air defense systems. The Kronos Grand Mobile HP detects threats within a radius of 300 km and is resistant to electronic warfare. Due to their reliability, they are planned to be installed in SAMP / T NG complexes, which have been in service for more than 20 years in many countries of the world.
