“Flying pig”: how the Russian Federation will be able to use new aircraft carrier drones in combat (video)

The developers promise that the aircraft-type drone will be both a carrier and a communications repeater for the two kamikaze quadrocopters.

The unmanned aerial vehicle “Admiral-Aircraft Carrier”, also called “bread”, was introduced in Russia. Ukrainian soldier and radio technologist Sergei Beskrestnov, known by the nickname “Flash”, praised the new technology on his Facebook page.

Admiral-Svinomatka: what is known about the complex

The Russians presented their development at the Second All-Russian Combat Quadcopter Operators Meeting “Dronnitsa”, which was held from August 25 to 27 in Veliky Novgorod and was dedicated to their combat use, as well as UAVs. Information about the unusual drone appeared on the Russian Telegram channel dedicated to FPV technologies and called “Sow”.

The complex consists of an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle with a vertical take-off and landing system, as well as two impact quadcopters. The first unmanned aerial vehicle has two pairs of wings, one at the rear of the fuselage, along with a two-bladed engine at the front. It also acts as a relay for small kamikaze drones.

The UAV drone is a carrier for two FPV (First Person View) quadcopters, each carrying a payload in the form of ammunition. In the air, quadcopters separate from the main UAV and, controlled by the operator, run down to drop ammunition on the target. The developers have stated that they will soon try to make another “weave” from a 13-inch-framed quadcopter, which will release a 7.5-inch-framed “kamikaze”.

The reaction of Ukrainian experts

In contrast, Ukrainian military and electronic warfare expert Sergei Beskrestnov criticized the Russian development with the call sign “Flash” and pointed out its weak points.

“I wonder what they see as the viability and implementation of this idea? Fly high and deep for 50km backwards and attack something with two FPVs there using the wing as a repeater? Well, maybe,” he wrote.

In turn, an employee of Ukroboronprom, Oleg Boldyrev (Martin Brest), said that a year ago it was desirable to implement a similar concept of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine.

“I heard about this concept from our guys about a year ago. I don’t know if the guys implemented this project. I don’t know how accurate it is, but it seems to me that a bunch of different UAVs are heavy, difficult to train, manage and logistics,” he wrote.

Recently, they wrote that the Russian army will launch a drone from the Admiral drone carrier. According to a representative of the company-developer Spetszaschita Svyaz, shortly after the presentation, the system is planned to be transferred to the Russian army for use in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. It is claimed that the Admiral-Aircraft Carrier can carry up to 8 kg of cargo in the form of a kamikaze drone, fly for up to three hours, accelerate to 150 km / h and patrol an area of 20 square kilometers. At the same time, the range of FPV drones is about 4-5 kilometers.

Recall that in early August it became known that in the Russian Federation they created a “hive” aircraft, which launched small UAVs. The autonomous platform is equipped with artificial intelligence and launch pads for drones that act as worker bees.
