Lotus Emeya, over 900 hp for the new electric Hyper-GT 08 September 2023 14

Lotus introduced a new Emea which defines how electric Hyper-GT. This model, which we have already talked about several times in the past thanks to a series of spy photos, shares a platform with the Eletre electric SUV. The car will be produced in China starting in 2024. Prices for the new model have not yet been disclosed.

DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE

At the moment, Lotus has not shared all the details of Emei. More details on the new electric Hyper-GT will be revealed in the fourth quarter of 2023. The design of the new car has some common ground with the design of the Eletre, especially on the front end. However, in this case, thanks to the shapes of the coupe, Lotus was able to pay much more attention to aerodynamics.

In fact, a lot of work has been done in this area. Lotus stresses that its new electric car can count on a number of active elements that maximize load or efficiency.

It is present in front active grid and an active spoiler. The active front grille reduces drag and improves vehicle efficiency when closed and cools the batteries and brake system when open.

An active front spoiler helps increase downforce at high speeds, improving handling and stability. At the rear, however, there is an active diffuser and spoiler. In particular, rear fender double layer 280 mm wide can withstand loads up to 215 kg.

Cabin presents a setup very similar to that of an electric SUV. Thus, we see a large central display of the infotainment system and a thin horizontal screen for instruments. There is even a head-up display. The interior has retained the 4-seater configuration, like that of an SUV, and environmentally friendly materials have been used for upholstery. The vehicle also delivers KEF sound system with Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound.

As for the powertrain, Lotus reports that on the new Emee we find double engine able to deliver total power 675 kW (918 hp) and 985 Nm of torque. For this new model, Lotus claims maximum speed 256 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds.

All of this is powered by one drums who has the ability 102 kWh. The manufacturer did not want to provide data on autonomy, saying only that it is similar to that of Eletre, therefore, about 600 km in the WLTP cycle. If we talk about recharging, then by connecting the car to a 350 kW HPC column, you can restore up to 150 km of autonomy in 5 minutes and reach 80% charge in 18 minutes.

The new Lotus Emeya also features an electronically controlled suspension capable of analyzing the road ahead 1,000 times per second and advanced driver assistance systems.
