Achieve success by “sending signals to space”: Scientists have identified the fastest way to go bankrupt

People who want to “cosmically attract” success face a greater risk of failure and financial ruin, a new study shows.

Recently, the practice of “manifestation” has become increasingly popular, which suggests that signals sent into space can attract success to a person. Allegedly, all you have to do is send the right signals into space and it will help you become successful and rich, writes the Daily Mail.

Researchers not only challenged this practice, but also clearly demonstrated that attempts to “cosmically attract” success are more likely to end in failure and bankruptcy. The study also suggests that such people are more likely to make risky investments and believe they can achieve unexpected levels of success more quickly.

According to study author Lucas Dixon of the University of Queensland (Australia), he and his colleagues defined manifestation in their study as belief, if you send your desires out into the Universe through positive thoughts, visualization, or acting as if the goals already exist. When you achieve success, the Universe will grant your deepest wish.

The study’s authors note that manifesto-makers appear to be “overly optimistic,” suggesting they are more likely to achieve success in a shorter time frame. Essentially, this means that they overestimate their chances of success.

Focusing on the positive aspects of life can actually help you feel better and be more resilient. But this can also lead to downplaying negative but crucial signs of business instability, such as increased debt. According to Dixon, such people are more likely to feel in control of the rather uncontrollable aspects of their lives, regardless of whether they achieve success and get rich quick.

In a new study, researchers measured the beliefs of 375 people. From recipients “I attract success into my life with the help of the Universe or higher powers”; “my spirit, soul, or higher self helps me attract success”; and “The universe or higher power sends me people and events that will help me succeed.” Scientists state that a 7-point rating scale was used in the study.

The team then analyzed the buyers’ responses together with the financiers. The results show that for every point people score higher on the manifestation scale, they are approximately 40% more likely to go bankrupt, 30% more likely to invest in cryptocurrency, and less likely to invest in stocks.

Dixon and his colleagues suggested that the results were due to manifestos having a stronger belief in get-rich-quick behavior. The authors of the study state that buyers’ excessive optimism is quite expected, while the belief in bankruptcy and getting rich quick seems very intriguing to scientists.

Researchers now believe that greater belief in the “omnipotence of the universe” is likely to lead to similar results. Additionally, scientists believe that people develop a stronger belief in “manifestation” after experiencing get-rich-quick or bankruptcy in their lives. Dixon notes that more research will be needed to better understand how these stereotypes work.
