Japanese USB device lets you press with your feet (photo)

The gadget will help you press individual keys and their combinations with your feet. The device can be programmed and then used with another computer.

The Sanwa Supply 400-MA179 three-pedal device allows you to assist your feet while typing on the keyboard. The Tom’s Hardware website talks about this.

The unusual gadget is connected using a standard USB Type-A port and has three pedals, under which buttons are hidden for pressing with your feet. Unfortunately the device senses pressure, so it won’t be an advanced controller for car racing games.

Important

Without a computer or console: the GTA Vice City game is launched only on a Wi-Fi router (video)

But it can be a great assistant when working with a computer, because all pedals can be programmed to replace any key on the keyboard. The device has an internal memory where the settings are stored. So if you transfer it to another computer it will work as before. In this case, you will not even need to install drivers on a new computer.

Not only can individual keystrokes be programmed, but combinations can also be programmed, which can be useful when gaming and even improve workflow in a professional environment.

The 400-MA179 controller is small and can be placed under almost any desk. It measures 376 x 140 x 46 mm and weighs only 340 grams. The cable is 2 meters long, so there is enough freedom to place the device comfortably on the ground.

You can find the Sanwa Supply 400-MA179 model on the Japanese manufacturer’s website for the equivalent of $36. Sanwa Supply provides a 6-month warranty for the device from the date of purchase.

USB devices can greatly expand the functionality of computers and phones. We’ve previously written about a USB camera that turns a smartphone into a thermal imager. It has a fairly large range of 870 m. Such a device can be used not only for entertainment or for everyday purposes: it can help the Armed Forces of Ukraine conduct surveillance at night remotely and without the use of expensive special equipment. The camera will even help you see the heat signature of a plane in the sky, which has been confirmed by tests.
