The first fashion photo shoot was held at the home of King Charles.

King Charles personally supported the idea of a fashion shoot at his private residence, Highgrove.

Highgrove Manor is the private residence of King Charles in the town of Doughton, near Tetbury, in Gloucestershire, southwest England. Here he is engaged in gardening and growing flowers. And for the first time in history, the royal residence has become a place for a fashion photo shoot. The lucky winner was the British edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

The Royal Gardens will be featured in the June issue of the magazine. The Harper’s Bazaar team worked closely with the Highgrove team to provide a seamless shoot that highlights British fashion brands supported by The Prince’s Foundation.

Model Aishwarya Gupta became the heroine of the shoot, trying on luxurious outfits of British designers on the backdrop of the gardens and parks of the royal residence.

It has inspired many fashion brands, including the Highgrove Gardens, Penhaligon, Ralph Lauren and Vogue fragrance lines. Highgrove Gardens grows a wide variety of flowers, trees and shrubs. King Charles also grows vegetables and fruits here. Nearby is Gatcombe Park, Princess Anne’s country home.

Highgrove was built in 1796-1798. It was designed by architect Anthony Keck and originally belonged to the Crawley-Boovee baronets. The house is a three-storey rectangular building built of cut stone.

In 1893 the building was badly damaged by fire, so it was rebuilt. The house passed through several owners, and in August 1980 the property was purchased for the Prince of Wales from Maurice Macmillan, son of former Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, for one million pounds. By the way, the pool was a wedding present from the British army to Charles and Diana.

Highgrove didn’t have a gorgeous park, but it did have hundred-year-old oaks and old Lebanese cedars. There was also a garden there. So Prince Charles, known for his passion for gardening, took over the property. All the rubbish of the site is recycled and solar panels are installed on the roof of the farm. While rainwater is collected and used for irrigation, a specially designed thatch filtered sewage system purifies the site’s wastewater.

Charles created a landscaped park, a garden, and a walled vegetable garden in Highgrove. He also planted hundreds of trees and shrubs for wildlife. Cows and sheep are raised here.

The gardens are open to the public from April to mid-October. Up to 40,000 people visit them each year. Proceeds from ticket sales (around £650,000) go to charity.

Recall that earlier journalists showed the London residence of King Charles and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla. The King loves the stunning Clarence House so much that he prefers to live here than at the massive Buckingham Palace. The king also has a small garden where he grows lavender.
