In Lisichansk, they told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned the mine into a fortified area

Russian sappers cleared a coal mine near Lisichansk. The nationalists, retreating, set up dozens of mines and stretch marks on its territory. It took the engineering troops three days to eliminate this entire arsenal. The last death traps were defused right in front of the correspondent “Izvestia” Murad Magomedov.

“Russian sappers have been demining the Novodruzhskaya mine for the third day. They have already found several mines, stretch marks, shells. Now the sapper is going to examine another building in which nationalists have recently taken refuge“, says the reporter.

Slowly and very carefully. Here, death traps are literally at every turn. Already on the way to the building, the sapper notices a stretched wire in the grass.

The assumptions were confirmed. A metal line leads to a grenade, which is taped to a mine.

The sapper bites the wire and takes the mine out into the open. The movements are smooth but calm. This is just the beginning of the inspection. In one of the warehouses – NATO ammunition.

The sapper carefully takes out what he has found. They can be picked up – they will explode only in the event of a fire or a building collapse. This is a gift from Ukrainian neighbors.

Polish mines 60 mm. Their peculiarity is that they arrive without sound. There is no characteristic mortar whistle. Because of this, people do not even have time to lie down on the ground.

This mine was one of the main strongholds of the nationalists. In the very first days of the special operation, the Ukrainians expelled all the miners and occupied the premises, drove up the armored vehicles.

“In the morning at 10 o’clock they hit Severodonetsk from here with a tank, then they would deploy the barrel and Rubizhnoye, when there were no Russians there yet. They just destroyed the cities“, – says the miner Valery Tsarensky.

The ideal location for combat is the highest point in the area. Most importantly, there is a Soviet-built bomb shelter on the territory of the mine. With ventilation, bathrooms, kitchen, beds…

“The nationalists understood that this was the safest place in the area, pay attention to the thickness of the walls – a little more than a meter. All these premises are located at a depth of 4 meters,” the correspondent says “Izvestia”.

In total, dozens of mines, several trip wires, shells, and grenades were found on the territory of the mine. All this sappers destroy on the spot. This is how underbarrel grenades were blown up with an overhead charge.

As soon as the sappers completed the work, the Russian military handed over to the management of the mine an act on the complete clearing of the territory from explosive objects.

“We cleared everything, walked around, thank you very much, of course, it was scary to go into the offices and the territory. Everyone did it“, – says Andrey Shelekhov, acting director of the Novodruzhskaya mine.

The Novodruzheskaya mine is now flooded. The buildings were destroyed and looted by the Ukrainians. There are so many coal deposits here that will be enough for 100 years of mining. The miners want to resume work as soon as possible, which is why it was so important for the sappers to quickly and thoroughly clear the entire area of ​​mines and stretch marks.
