The head of the Polish Tennis Association, Miroslav Skrzypczynski, resigned after he was accused of rape and child molestation. This was reported by the Board of the Polish Association.
Earlier, a member of the Polish parliament, Katarzyna Kotula, accused Skshipczynski of molesting and raping underage tennis players. According to her, when she was 13-14 years old, Miroslav Skshipchinsky was her coach and she became one of his victims.
It is known that after the accusations were made, Skshipczynski wrote a letter of resignation from the post of chairman of the board of the Polish Tennis Association. His resignation was accepted unanimously. It is reported that Dariusz Lukaszewski has become the new chairman of the board of the tennis association.
In addition, the board of the association decided to set up an independent commission of three people to investigate the circumstances of the case. A report on it should be prepared within the next six months.
Prior to Kotula’s statements, similar anonymous accusations against Skrzypczyński appeared in the Polish press. Leading Polish tennis players Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz have already urged that the allegations against Miroslav Skrzypczynski be taken seriously and that they be investigated as soon as possible.
