IAEA experts conducted an inspection at the Khmelnytsky and Rivne NPPs

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted an inspection at the Khmelnitsky and Rivne nuclear power plants. This was announced by the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, whose statement published on the agency website.

He stressed that the nuclear safety missions passed through nuclear facilities “as part of their ongoing and intensifying activities to prevent the danger of a nuclear accident during the current armed conflict in the country.”

It is indicated that two inspections took place “for assistance and support in the field of nuclear safety and protection” a week after the visit of experts to the South Ukraine NPP and two weeks after the inspection of the Chernobyl NPP.

Earlier, Grossi allowed the coordination of a security zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the near future.
