Ivan Savkin from the Sverdlovsk region was enlisted by the Wagner Group for the war against Ukraine and went to the front in October 2022. After the prisoner’s death, they refused to honorably bury him in his hometown because of his criminal past.
In Russia, an honorable funeral was not held for the mother of a prisoner who, instead of serving his sentence, went to war in Ukraine as part of the Wagner PMC and died there. This was reported by the publication E1.ru.
It is known that the deceased Russian Ivan Savkin was born in the Kamyshlov district of the Sverdlovsk region, where he served a prison sentence for theft. After Savkin’s death in Ukraine, his mother wanted to bury her son with all honor in her homeland, but received a harsh refusal from the local government.
“When asked to secure a place at the club,” they said, “It would be free but he is an ex-con. “It was very unpleasant,” the woman complained to reporters.
Also, relatives of Ivan Savkin did not like that the funeral took place without military protection and a gun salute. They are already ready to complain to the Kamyshlov administration about the village authorities. And they claim that they know nothing about the “scandalous situation”.
“They turned to my assistant for the funeral, please bury him. They didn’t talk about any history, and then they disappeared,” Nikolai Zhursky, head of the eastern rural settlement, told the press.
But Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner Group, has already reacted to this lawsuit. And he did it with his usual demeanor:
“Unfortunately, I did not know that the mayor of the Kamyshlov district of the Sverdlovsk region decided to show this way of sexual relations with animals. We will deal with the scum and try to pull their children through their nostrils so that they can join the SVO.” said.
Meanwhile, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of January 21, the total irreparable loss of manpower of the Russian Federation amounted to 120,160 soldiers. And the total war losses of the invaders on the last day of the invaders amounting to:
