Tenant set on fire: 16-storey MKM hotel burned down in Moscow, there are dead (video)

On Tuesday, February 21, a fire broke out on the fifth floor of a 16-storey building in the center of Moscow, where the apartments of the MKM hotel and the former hostel are located. This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to the message of the emergency services of the capital of the Russian Federation.

As noted, the building with apartments, offices and a hotel is located at 15 Mezhdunarodnaya Street. The emergency has been given an increasing degree of complexity.

Firefighters and rescue teams are at the scene. A total of 129 people and 43 pieces of equipment are involved, but the buildup of power and tools to save people continues.

Currently, guests and employees of the hotel, as well as those living in the apartments of the old hostel, are being evacuated.

Five buses came to the scene to warm up the survivors.

According to the TASS agency, the cause of the fire was arson. According to eyewitnesses, one of the tenants of the apartment set fire to his belongings in the corridor of the building.

Currently, five victims are known, including one child. All of them were hospitalized.

A source from the emergency services told reporters that one person died as a result of the fire.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia said that 200 people were rescued from the building, including seven children. There is a ladder and articulated elevators to rescue people from the upper floors. Door to door inspection is currently being carried out inside the building.

The fire was localized in an area of ​​100 square meters. m.

The MKM Hotel in Moscow was built in 1981.

Recall that on February 17, a warehouse with trucks burned in the Russian city of Magadan. Employees of the Ministry of Emergencies revealed many violations – the old building had faulty wiring and did not have a fire alarm. Fuels and lubricants, flammable liquids and tires were stored in the tank.

On the evening of February 14, a huge fire broke out in the village of Kolomna in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation. The fire broke out at an old wagon repair facility.
