The G7 countries plan to revise the price ceiling for Russian oil in March this year. Elizabeth Rosenberg, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Combating Terrorist Financing and Financial Crime, announced this at the international energy conference CERAWeek in Houston.
At the same time, she was unable to answer a question from journalists about how, according to Washington, the introduced price ceiling could affect Moscow’s position regarding what is happening in Ukraine.
Rosenberg also could not answer anything about the impact of price restrictions on the imbalance between supply and demand in the oil market.
“All I can say is that the G7 plans to reassess the Russian oil price ceiling in March.b,” Rosenberg said.
Recall that earlier the official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that the “ceiling” does not work because of the free installation and existing prices on the world market.
