India will have a new way to deliver its goods to Russia and Europe – through the Black Sea. The proposal to provide a trade corridor was made by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during his visit to India. Writes about it The Economic Times.

According to the newspaper, now trade routes will run parallel to the North-South transport corridor, through Iran and Armenia. Thanks to him, India will be able to maintain trade relations with Europe without resorting to the help of Azerbaijan, with which it is now strained relations due to its ties with Turkey and Pakistan.

Moreover, the new corridor will create another bypass route around the Suez Canal, which will avoid confrontation between Russia and the West.

“As the new cold war undermines the economic and political relations between Russia and the West, any large-scale transit of goods passing through the border of Russia and Europe looks too risky for international logistics and insurance companies”– says political scientist and senior researcher at APRI Armenia Beniamin Poghosyan.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey, under pressure from outside, blocked the transit of goods to Russia that fell under Western sanctions. The Russian Embassy in Ankara expressed the hope that this issue would be resolved in the near future.
