Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov said that Russia and China are working on the launch of a single electronic visa. According to him, Russia and Beijing continue to develop cooperation in the field of tourism.
The Deputy Minister explained that the volume of tourist flow in the coming years should recover to pre-Covid levels. And the development of relations is facilitated by mutual trust, respect for the sovereignty and interests of the two countries. It is tourism that can become the basis for the growth of trade in services between Russia and China.
Russia and China continue to work on the development of mutual tourist trips. When China lifted restrictions related to the COVID pandemic, Russian tour operators began accepting Chinese groups who traveled on visas.
“In order to resume group visa-free travel between countries, we expect an updated list of Chinese travel companies that plan to send visa-free group tours. Work is also underway to launch a single electronic visa, which we hope will work in the near future, and to simplify the settlements of foreign tourists within Russia”– said Vakhrukov.
Also, Chinese guests will be presented with new proposals for tourism in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions.
Earlier, Tatyana Sharshavitskaya, head of the tourism development department of the Ministry of Economy, said that Russia would launch electronic visas for foreign tourists, as well as special payment cards.
According to her, first of all, the Russian Federation is waiting for guests from China and the Persian Gulf countries.
