Zelensky and Macron discussed cooperation on defense in an hour-long conversation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had an hour-long telephone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron. Zelensky himself announced this in his Telegram channel.

The Ukrainian president said that he and Macron “substantially and effectively” discussed the interaction between Kyiv and Paris in the defense field and the situation on the line of contact.

“In an hour-long conversation with Emmanuel Macron, we discussed the defense cooperation between Ukraine and France in detail and effectively. I informed in detail about the situation on the front line,” – wrote Vladimir Zelensky.

The Ukrainian president also claims that, together with his colleague from France, he discussed further steps to implement the so-called Ukrainian peace formula, and coordinated actions with Macron “in the context of upcoming international events.”

The West continues to pump weapons into Ukraine, supplying ever new types of them: infantry fighting vehicles, armored vehicles, tanks, missile systems, artillery systems, MLRS.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly emphasized that any shipments of weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for the Russian Aerospace Forces. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the supply of weapons would not stop, but would prolong the conflict in Ukraine, and called the position of Western countries “harmful” and “counterproductive.”
