Moldovan President Maia Sandu called on citizens who support European integration to take part in a mass rally in Chisinau, thus “interfering” with opposition protests.

“The meeting “European Moldova” will be organized on the Great National Assembly Square on May 21. Together we will support our common dream, we will demonstrate to the whole world that we want to build the EU at home”Sandu said in her address on Monday.

According to her, “criminal groups” allegedly stand behind the anti-government protests, the purpose of which is to sabotage the country’s integration into the EU.

Therefore, Sandu believes that a rally of all pro-European parties in general can change the situation.

Earlier it was reported that Sandu gave the security forces additional powers to fight the protesting opposition.
