American F-22 Raptor fighters arrived in Poland. This was stated in Twitter Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Polish Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Blashak.
“American F-22 Raptor fighters landed in Poland. Some of the most modern aircraft in the world will interact with Polish pilots, continuing to support the eastern flank of the alliance,” Blaschak wrote.
However, he did not mention the number of F-22s that arrived in Poland.
The command of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa said that the F-22 Raptor was transferred to the Polish Powidz as part of a rotational mission. The fighters belong to the 94th Squadron from Langley-Eustis Air Force Base in Virginia and will replace the F-15 fighters from the 48th Air Regiment.
Previously, F-22 Raptor fighters were deployed in Poland until October 2022 as part of the presence of NATO combat aviation on the eastern flank, in the region of the Baltic and Black Seas. At the end of August 2022, it became known that Washington had increased the number of its fifth-generation F-22s in Poland to 12.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said earlier that the country is creating a “logistic rear” of NATO’s eastern flank. According to him, thousands of units of military equipment will be stored in the NATO weapons warehouses being created in Poland.
