Hit the second jackpot in 3 months: A man won $1 million in the lottery

Cedric Bass received a winning lottery ticket for the second time in three months. Last time the man shared the jackpot with another participant, but this time he was the only winner.

According to UPI, Cedric Bass of Kannapolis, North Carolina (USA) won $1 million in a scratch ticket jackpot just three months after winning $182,073 in the Cash 5 lottery.

The American told employees of the North Carolina Education Lottery that he decided to stop by the gas station after visiting a nearby grocery store.

“I paid for gas and got a ticket,” Bass said.

He chose a $10 VIP Platinum ticket, removed the protective screen, and found the $1 million grand prize.

“I was only here in January. Last time I won at Cash 5,” the American told officials at the lottery center.

The man received $182,073 after splitting the jackpot with another winner in the January 6 draw.

When Bass arrived at the lottery center to claim the $1 million he had won, he had to make a decision. He could choose to receive his award at $50,000 annually for 20 years, or $600,000 in lump sum payments. The man chose to make a one-time payment and received $427,503 after paying state and federal taxes.
