Prosecutor’s office investigates ship fire in South Korea

The transport prosecutor’s office is investigating a fire that started on a Russian ship in South Korean waters on April 21.

The ship from Vladivostok caught fire, being 30 miles from the seaport of Busan. The owner of the vessel is Dalrybprom LLC. The fire is still being put out.

“During the audit, prosecutors will assess the compliance of responsible persons with fire safety requirements and navigation safety legislation. In case of violations, response measures will be taken to eliminate them”– said Valentina Glazova, senior assistant to the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor for interaction with the media and the public.

Recall that 21 people were evacuated from the ship. Four crew members are considered missing. Two survivors received minor injuries.
