With the presidents of Afghanistan and Myanmar: Putin was not invited to the coronation of Charles III, – media

Invitations to the coronation ceremony were sent to top diplomats from North Korea and Nicaragua.

Britain anointed Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on May 6, III. He didn’t invite me to Charles’ coronation. Reported by Reuters.

A British source said on Tuesday that London did not invite the leaders of Russia, Belarus, Iran, Myanmar, Syria, Afghanistan and Venezuela to the coronation of King Charles.

According to the publication, heads of state with whom Britain has full diplomatic relations, as well as representatives of British kingdoms and overseas territories were invited. Invitations were sent not only to the heads of state of North Korea and Nicaragua, but also to senior diplomats.

Couldn’t attend the coronation, even by invitation

It is worth noting that the President of Russia could not attend, even if he was invited to the coronation of Charles III in England. The fact is that on March 17, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for him.

On the same day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation declared that the court’s decision had no political or legal significance for the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation is not a party to the Rome Statute of the ICC and does not cooperate with it. Therefore, the country bears no liability in case of non-compliance with the instructions of this body.

However, the Russian dictator has to refuse any trips abroad. Therefore, on May 1, the Sunday Times reported that representatives of South Africa are negotiating with the leadership of the Russian Federation regarding the presence of Vladimir Putin at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg in August.

The arrest warrant of Putin confronted the authorities of the country with the fact of the execution of the decision of the international court. “The only options we have are to connect from Moscow via Teams or Zoom,” a senior source said.

Recall that on March 18, former ICC judge Vladimir Vasilenko said that the arrest warrant compelled Vladimir Putin to testify at The Hague tribunal, but if the president did not do so, Interpol would put him on the international wanted list. After that, the head of state can be detained in any country that is party to the Rome Statute of the ICC.

On April 19, supporters of the ruling Fidesz party in the Hungarian National Assembly did not vote for a document that stipulates the arrest and extradition of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the ICC. Local publication rtl.hu noted that under the current circumstances, the Hungarian government could grant asylum to Vladimir Putin, who is accused of illegally transferring children from the occupied Ukrainian territory to Russia.
