An 11-year-old girl from the United States fell victim to a wild cougar. Details of the attack reported ABC17.
The incident took place on a farm in Colorado. In the morning, the girl decided to visit the laying hens and went into the chicken coop. One of the birds was injured.
The child sat down to check what happened to the chicken. At this time, a puma attacked the girl, who did not have time to escape from the chicken coop. The predator scratched the schoolgirl’s face and then fled.
The family complained to law enforcement, after which the Department of Conservation tracked down the cat. It turned out that a young female attacked the child. Her body was sent to a laboratory to be tested for rabies and other dangerous diseases.
“The cougar was most likely just looking for a light lunch in the chicken coop. But, although cougar attacks are rare, we can’t risk if a predator attacked a person.”– said Sean Shepard, specialist of the department.
Experts put forward the theory that the cougar was not going to attack the child again. Most likely, the predator, being in a blocked space, was frightened and tried to defend itself.
Recall that a few days ago a crocodile was found in a nightclub in the center of Moscow.
