President Vladimir Putin and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa held telephone conversations over the solution to the conflict in Ukraine. This was told by the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, the conversation was long and constructive. During it, the President of South Africa said that Africa considers it necessary to contribute to resolving the current situation.
“Mr. Ramaphosa said that Africa, as the largest continent, considers it necessary to declare its voice on resolving the situation in Ukraine. The group of states will send delegationwhich will also be in Moscow”– Peskov said during a briefing with reporters.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation noted that it is planned to accept the mission of the heads of African countries and listen to their proposals before the Russia-Africa summit.
“We have already said that we are ready to listen with great attention to any proposals that will contribute to the settlement of the situation”he concluded.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke about the proposals of African countries to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. According to him, Russia is ready to consider any peace plans, but so far they have not been seen in Moscow on paper.
