“I hope there are no people who accept the Cold War again. I don’t want another war like this between China and the United States and we’re still subservient to those countries.. I want a free economy in the commercial world,” he said.

The use of the dollar in the world market has been criticized several times by the President of Brazil.who recalled that the idea of ​​creating their own currency is already being discussed in the BRICS – an organization that unites Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa – so that member countries can trade it.

“It is impossible for us to depend on the dollar in foreign trade,” he stressed.

“My dream is to build several other currencies between countries that have high trade so that they are not dependent on a single currency – just like the euro – I think it is possible to create. It remains only to have political and economic conditions for this.or, he said.

Asked about the position of the G7 countries, which have announced a reduction in economic “overdependence” on China, Lula said that he will continue to develop trade relations with the Asian country, which is Brazil’s main partner, as well as with other countries. , peace.

“China is a very important partner. It is our largest trading partner and we want to maintain this relationship. and this does not prevent us from having the same with other countries,” he said.
