United States presidential candidate, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis raised $8.2 million in the first day of his own 2024 presidential campaign. This is reported The New York Post.

It is noted that DeSantis managed to raise such an impressive amount even despite the “lackluster” launch of the presidential campaign on Twitter.

By comparison, incumbent US President Joe Biden raised $6.3 million on his first day of campaigning as a presidential candidate back in 2019.

The next US presidential election is due in November 2024. Former US President Donald Trump in November 2022 has already announced the start of the struggle for this position. In the event that the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, is re-elected to the post of American leader, he will be 82 years old at the beginning of his second presidential term.

On May 24, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis filed an application with the Electoral Commission to run for President of the United States. The politician is called the main competitor of former President Donald Trump for a seat in the elections from the Republican Party.
