In Japan, a few years ago, they came up with an unusual way to give people the opportunity to take a break from the virtual world, constant notifications and messages. They decided to make computers decide for themselves when it is better not to distract people.
The University of Advanced Studies has taken up the development of a system that will itself determine whether it is possible to send the next notification to the user or it is better to wait. To do this, the researchers placed a sensitive panel under the keyboard, which will determine how busy a person is by the intensity of pressing the buttons. If he is actively working, then he will not bother him with notifications yet. And when the system realizes that a person has a free minute, it will overwhelm him with all the accumulated messages at once.
It is a pity that this system cannot at the same time also offer a person a little distraction from gadgets.
And what amazing technologies are there to get adults and children distracted from smartphones? And why did a Chinese man make his son play games for 17 hours in a row? Details about this and much more – in the program “Science and Technology” with the host Mikhail Borzenkov. Science blockbuster will be released on Sunday, May 28 at 10:30 am on REN TV.
