The duration of the conflict in Ukraine will depend on how much further NATO states, including Britain, aggravate it. This was stated BBC Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

“It depends on the efforts to escalate the conflict that are being made by NATO countries, especially the United Kingdom”– Kelin answered the question of how long the conflict in Ukraine can last.

The ambassador added that the Russian side has not yet taken “very serious actions” in response to the actions of Ukraine’s Western partners and called the idea that Kiev is allegedly “capable of defeating Moscow” a “great mistake of the idealists.”

“Of course, sooner or later this escalation will take on a new dimension that we don’t need or want. We can make peace tomorrow.”the diplomat stressed.

According to him, a new step in the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine was the supply of the Kyiv regime by the UK with Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles with a range of 250-300 kilometers, as well as the negotiated transfer of F-16 fighters.

Andrei Kelin noted that Russia is not worried about the possibility of deliveries of fighter jets from the West to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “which will only replenish” the list of enemy aircraft destroyed during the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the United States wants to prolong the conflict in Ukraine as much as possible.
