The grandmother of a teenager killed in Nanterre called on the rioters to stop the protests and expressed dissatisfaction on the air of the channel BFMTV the fact that the death of a grandson is used as a pretext for pogroms.

“I only blame the policeman who killed my grandson. It’s good that the policemen are here. To the people who break everything, I say: stop it. They took advantage of Nael’s excuse (name of murdered teenager). We need them to stop so they don’t break the windows”she said.

The grandmother also stressed that she trusts French justice, so those who are to blame for the death of her grandson will be punished within the law.

Recall that riots have been raging in France for several days in a row. Demonstrators overturn and burn cars, throw firecrackers and rob shops.

The reason for the protests was the murder of a 17-year-old teenager by a police officer. In the suburb of Paris, Nanterre, on June 27, a law enforcement officer stopped a car driven by a young man and asked the driver to leave the passenger compartment. The young man refused, and the law enforcement officer fired point-blank at him.

On July 2, former presidential candidate of the Fifth Republic, Eric Zemmour, said that the country was on the verge of civil war.
