Media: the head of the EU will not invite Zelensky to the summit of the EU and CELAC

The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, decided not to invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the summit of the EU and the Community of Latin America and the Caribbean. This is reported by the newspaper Vanguardia.

“Although Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked to participate in some way at the summit, the host of the summit, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, came to the conclusion that it was better not to invite him“, – says in the article.

Diplomatic sources of the publication expressed confidence that the President of Ukraine will still take “a place in the discussions of the leaders.”

The newspaper’s website also notes that the EU-CELAC summit, which will be held July 17-18 in Brussels, will be an opportunity to discuss possible ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier in Venezuela, Zelensky’s participation in the EU and CELAC summit was called inappropriate without an invitation to the event by Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
