Storm Shadow and Brimstone: Britain prepares new missile parties for Ukraine and the media

According to journalists, 50 workers producing rockets for Ukraine are preparing to strike. However, the British Ministry of Defense believes that this will not affect the speed of arms supplies to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the UK, new batches of missiles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are assembled at the Defense Munitions Beith facility. Giardian writes about it, citing representatives of the country’s Ministry of Defense.

It was noted that the statement was made against the background of plans to organize strikes in connection with incorrect payments for work by employees of the enterprise. However, the Ministry said it has contingency plans and therefore the two-week strike will not affect the operation of the factory and the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

“These attacks will not affect our ability to prepare for war on Ukraine,” the source told reporters.

The Beith facility is reportedly collecting and deploying the Storm Shadow and Brimstone missiles sent by the Ministry of Defense to Ukraine.

As for the strike, it will begin on August 21. More than 50 members of the Scottish union GMB will go on strike for two weeks. Previously, they were on strike for 4 days, but this did not lead to a resolution of the conflict. The union believes that unskilled workers should receive bonuses just like managers and skilled co-workers. The strike is supported by 93% of union members.

The union published a letter from Mykhailo Volynets, head of the Ukrainian Confederation of Free Trade Unions, saying that Beith workers played a “decisive role” in the supply of ammunition to Ukraine.

“The supplies you provide are a lifesaver for civilians in cities that are under constant attack by Russian troops, and for the brave Ukrainian army on the front lines,” Volynets wrote.

Recall that on August 9, Germany approved the transfer of additional Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. Ukraine will also receive five more armored recovery vehicles and two training tanks.

It was also learned that on August 9, SurveilSPIRE smart systems with unmanned aerial vehicles were delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Berlin has approved the next delivery of special reconnaissance systems, and the shipment will take place directly and not through the manufacturer Rheinmetall.

It was also reported on August 8 that the USA could reach a production of 1 million 155 mm rounds per year by 2025. New production technologies will help increase the volume of production of this artillery munition. It is planned to optimize the shell production especially for 155 mm shells.
