Record volumes of gas have been accumulated in storage facilities in Romania, thanks to which the citizens of the country “will not shiver from the cold.” Such a statement on the TV channel TVR Info made by Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja.
He said that gas storage facilities are 83% full, which is an absolute record for August, beating the previous value by about 580 million cubic meters. In addition, by September 1, stocks should exceed 90% of the volume.
“My very clear message to all Romanians: stay calm because you won’t be shivering in the winter“, – assured Burjois.
He also said that in the event of a harsh winter, Romania would buy additional volumes of gas from Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper predicted Europe the largest energy crisis in recent history due to the refusal of Russian gas supplies. However, not all European countries refuse to purchase gas from Russia. So our country remains the second in terms of energy supplies to Spain.
