The Italian general recognized the impossibility of Ukraine’s victory in the conflict

Ukraine’s victory over Russia is simply impossible. This fact was recognized by the retired Italian General Marco Bertolini in interview newspaper Libero Quotidiano.

“At the military level, a Ukrainian victory is unthinkable. This conflict must be stopped, but in recent months the rhetoric of “we will win” has been cultivated, fueling public opinion with the expectation of a victory that is impossible in the field. Ukrainians can’t win“, the officer said.

He also revealed that in fact there is a growing skepticism in the leadership of many Western countries about the real possibilities of Ukraine. In this regard, he stressed that the conflict must be ended through peace negotiations.

Earlier, the United States also acknowledged that the Ukrainian counteroffensive does not live up to Western expectations.

Recall that Russia has repeatedly declared its readiness for negotiations with Ukraine. However, as President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov pointed out, the Kyiv authorities “absolutely deny” the talks.

The Kremlin spokesman drew attention to the fact that Kyiv does not show “political will” and does not enter into a dialogue with Moscow. Instead, the Ukrainian regime regularly voices completely unrealistic conditions for starting a dialogue.
