Mass shooting at biker bar leaves at least 4 dead and 6 injured in Southern California

Four people died, six were taken to hospital after mass shooting Wednesday evening at Cook’s Corner, the iconic biker bar in Trabuco Canyon., Reportedly Sheriff of Orange County, Southern California (OCSD).

Authorities arrived at Cook’s Corner on Santiago Canyon Road in Trabuco Canyon after the shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, five people were also hospitalized with gunshot wounds, and a sixth person was hospitalized with a non-gunshot wound.

Gunfire followed, involving officers, but no officers were hurt, according to OCSD.

A massive law enforcement presence has responded to Cook’s Corner, a well-known biker grill on Santiago Canyon Road in Trabuco Canyon.

Two sources who spoke to the Los Angeles Times on condition of anonymity said the shooter was a retired Ventura County police officer.

FBI and ATF agents also arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation.

Cook’s Corner is a popular and famous place among motorcycle enthusiasts with over a century of history.

Andrew Jackson Cook purchased the Orange County property in the late 19th century. It opened as a restaurant in 1926 and later sold alcohol after Prohibition ended.

The Cook family sold the bar in the 1970s. Bikers discovered the place in the 1970s and it has been a popular hangout for decades.
