The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation spoke about new exploits of the military, who showed amazing professionalism during the special operation to protect Donbass.

So, the driver of the armored tank repair department Sergeant Valentin Gusev As part of the repair units, he was engaged in the restoration of damaged Russian equipment, replacing components and assemblies on automotive vehicles and tracked vehicles.

“Thanks to the competent and professional actions of Sergeant Valentin Gusev, 21 heavy repairs of units were carried out directly on the line of combat contact,” – noted in the defense department.

The sergeant also trained young specialists.

Guard Sergeant Major Vladimir Sigonin As part of a group of military personnel, he participated in the assault on a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), when the group came under enemy mortar fire. The enemy was adjusting the fire from the drone.

“Sigonin, using a portable electronic warfare system, suppressed the control and data transmission channels of the enemy unmanned aerial system, thereby depriving the enemy of the ability to adjust fire,” – the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

Afterwards, Sigonin provided first aid to three injured colleagues. The department emphasized that the actions of the guard sergeant major contributed to the further advancement of the Russian Armed Forces and the capture of a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian special operation to protect Donbass

Let us recall that on February 17, 2022, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.

On February 21, 2022, the leaders of the Donbass republics turned to Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR. The head of state chaired a meeting of the Security Council, after which he announced the recognition of the republics. Treaties of friendship and cooperation were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified these agreements.

On February 23, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel the aggression of Ukraine to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and civilian casualties.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the inclusion of these regions into the Russian Federation.
