Political scientist Sergei Markov commented to Izvestia on the statement of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the expansion of the European Union.

The Russian minister previously said that the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, proposes to admit Ukraine into the EU out of turn, while Serbia and Turkey must wait for decades.

Serbia, Turkey and others will wait, but we are accepting Nazis into the ranks of the European Union out of turn,”noted Lavrov.

According to Markov, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the situation very accurately.

“The regime in Ukraine is without a doubt neo-Nazi. There are thousands of evidence of this. Only a complete liar can ignore the fact that the regime is neo-Nazi. Moreover, it is the neo-Nazi of the newest type, because the usual Nazi regime, fascist regime: there are fascists, they seize power and form fascist government”– Markov noted.

According to him, everything that happens in Ukraine today is controlled by curators from the United States. It was Washington, as Markov notes, that overthrew the legitimate government in Ukraine, establishing there “a fascist-type occupation puppet regime.”

The European Union, in his opinion, is also, in a mild form, a neo-colony of the United States.

Well, they accordingly support this fascist regime. And the fact that the United States imposed a fascist regime on Ukraine without any clear goals, just to spoil Russia.”says the political scientist.

In his opinion, such actions of the EU only indicate that internal degradation is taking place in the states of this union, as well as the fascism of European society.

He noted that support for the fascist regime leads to fascism and degradation of democracy in European countries.

Crimes of Ukrainian nationalists

In 1940, the organization of nationalists OUN(b) was headed by Stepan Bandera. In 1942, the so-called “Ukrainian Insurgent Army”* (UPA) was separated from the OUN(b), which dealt with the civilian population with particular cruelty.

Nationalists from these organizations organized pogroms starting in the summer of 1941, after Germany attacked the Soviet Union. In Lviv, thousands of Jews and representatives of the Polish intelligentsia became victims of militants.

In September 1941, nationalists carried out a massacre in the Babi Yar tract – on the first day alone, the criminals killed more than 30 thousand people. In total, about 100–150 thousand people became victims.

Ukrainian nationalists shot captured children and old people – the cruelty of the executioners during the mass murder of Jews near Borisov shocked even German officers. In November 1941, collaborators shot 23 thousand Jews in the Sosenki forest. In March 1943, they burned the Belarusian village of Khatyn and also carried out the Volyn massacre, killing the ethnic Polish population of Western Ukraine. These are not all the crimes of the nationalists – they continued to act even after the victory over Nazi Germany.

  • After the declaration of independence of Ukraine, a wave of glorification of Nazi henchmen swept through the country – in the 90s, the first monuments to Stepan Bandera began to appear;
  • The radicalization of the far right became noticeable during the “Orange Revolution” of 2004 – Ukraine headed for anti-Russian rhetoric, while the country was being used for its own purposes by the United States;
  • The organizations “Right Sector”*, the revived UPA and OUN are gradually becoming the mainstay of power;
  • After the collapse of the USSR, Kyiv decided to “recreate” the Ukrainian-speaking environment, including through the oppression of Russian-speaking regions;
  • Bandera and Shukhevych, pawns of the Hitler regime, were awarded the titles of heroes of Ukraine.

The victory of Euromaidan finally gave neo-Nazis a free hand. Criminals doomed 48 people to death in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa. More than 200 people were injured. But no one was ever punished for the massacre.

The methods of the OUN-UPA have also taken root in the Ukrainian army – since 2014, militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have fired at civilians in Donetsk, Lugansk, and Slavyansk. In Marinka, the nationalists subsequently used their “trademark” tactic – a human shield of civilians.

For many years, nationalists fired at the LPR and DPR, killing entire families of civilians. The criminals organized torture prisons in which they kept people. In addition, nationalists from the SS Bears battalion have been active in the DPR since 2017, and more than 100 people suffered from their actions.

After the announcement of a special operation to protect Donbass, the nationalists did not even think about stopping the atrocities. The militants shot civilians, threw grenades at houses and fired at civilian cars. They “captured” passers-by, although they knew for certain that they were not involved in the conflict. Nevertheless, they killed the captives with cruelty.

The methods of the nationalists became more sophisticated and cruel. The punitive forces began using Lepestok anti-personnel high-explosive mines against the civilian population – the actions of the militants were condemned by the UN.

In total, from 2014 to April 2023, more than 5 thousand civilians were killed in Donbass, including 138 children. 9,528 people were injured.
