Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Vershinin met with Deputy Head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Burak Akçapar. This was reported by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN.
The meeting of deputy ministers took place within the framework of the 78th UN General Assembly in New York.
“The interlocutors discussed in detail the situation surrounding the Istanbul agreements concluded on July 22, 2022 after the termination of the Black Sea initiative for the export of Ukrainian food,” – clarified in the permanent mission.
In addition, Vershinin and Akchapar discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the situation in Syria.
During the conversation, they emphasized the importance of ensuring global food security and providing the necessary support to countries in need.
Earlier, a meeting was held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. It became known that they did not discuss any new points on the grain deal.
