Greece is negotiating with Gazprom on gas supplies in 2024

With the support of the authorities, the Greek company DEPA Emporias is negotiating with the Russian Gazprom on the conditions and possibilities for gas supplies in 2024. This was announced by the head of the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skilakakis.

“Europe managed to limit the volume of Russian gas received from 40% to 9%, but in Greece the situation is different”– the portal ot.gr reports the words of Skilakakis.

According to official data provided by the portal, for the nine months of 2023, the share of gas supplied to Greece via the Turkish Stream from Russia or by sea accounted for 40% of total imports.

To date, negotiations are ongoing. Skilakakis acknowledged the issue of Russian gas supplies as “complicated.”

Earlier, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said that the Russian Federation remained open to negotiations on gas supplies to the European market.
