The American side will not put pressure on Ukraine and dictate the terms of a truce in the conflict in this country. This was stated by White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby.

“We’re definitely not going to dictate these terms.”“,” Kirby answered a question from journalists about the conditions for ending the conflict in Ukraine.

Also, according to him, Washington reserves to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the citizens of Ukraine the right to decide how and when the conflict in Ukraine will end, as well as the terms of peace negotiations to resolve it.

At the same time, the White House representative considered the risk of Ukraine’s defeat in the conflict high.

Russia has repeatedly stated its readiness for negotiations with Ukraine. However, as presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov pointed out, the Ukrainian authorities “absolutely deny” the negotiations. The Kremlin representative drew attention to the fact that Kyiv does not show political will and does not enter into dialogue with Moscow.

It is worth noting that Kyiv representatives themselves regularly voiced completely unrealistic conditions for starting negotiations.
