They thought it was a UFO: a Russian X-101 rocket crashed in the Volgograd region – media (photo)

Representatives of the Russian authorities deny that the X-101 missile used to hit Ukraine crashed near a Russian village. Instead, they continue to say that the object in the field was a “UFO.”

An unidentified flying object (UFO) was found in the middle of a field in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. Government officials later admitted that the object may have belonged to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Details of the incident were written on the local portal “Volgograd Online”.

The portal claims that the “UFO” was found by chance on January 8 – it was then that railway workers decided to clean the railway tracks buried during snowfall. The incident took place near the village of Bolshoi Morets.

Russian law enforcement officers went to the scene of the emergency – this is evidenced by another photo posted on the public page of a banned social network – shown on the Volgograd Online portal. They also noted that the army of the Russian Armed Forces was not visible nearby: they would have to deal with a missile-like object; If they tried to do anything with this object it could explode.

Local government representative Galina Zueva did not accept that the “UFO” was actually a Russian missile launched by the Russians at the Ukrainians. But he stated that the object was related to the Russian Ministry of Defense, which should provide all the answers. He also assured that there was no loss of life or destruction as a result of the appearance of the “UFO”.

The Russian official, whose words were quoted on the portal, said, “What is this? The Ministry of Defense will answer this question. All the necessary services are already available.”

Meanwhile, residents of the Volgograd region state that the object is a Russian missile that “fell into the field again.” They also published a message from a railroad worker asking management to “report to the appropriate authorities.”

Astra news channel also published other photos from the scene. One of the photos was taken from inside a car passing nearby. The object is also called an “unknown projectile”. At the same time, the Ukrainian portal “Channel 24” states that the “UFO” could be the X-101 missile fired by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on January 8.

Note that the village of Velikiy Morets is located more than 400 km from the Ukrainian border in the Kharkov region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense did not confirm the incident that took place in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation.
