Biden threatened Republicans with retribution for refusing to finance Kyiv

Members of the US Congress from the Republican Party will have to “pay a lot” if they refuse to finance the Kiev regime, US President Joe Biden said on January 13.

“If my fellow Republicans don’t fund Ukraine, they’re going to have to pay a lot.” – he told reporters, without explaining what he meant.

Let us recall that in early January, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, said that Washington is no longer able to transfer military assistance to Kyiv. The last package was allocated without approval from Congress. In the future, it will not be possible to supply weapons to Ukrainian militants without his approval.

Earlier, an adviser to the Ukrainian military leadership, a researcher at the Kyiv National Institute of Strategic Studies, Nikolai Beleskov, said that insufficient military assistance from the West will lead to a slow and protracted defeat of Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba admitted that the country does not have any “Plan B” in case of a shortage of military assistance from Western countries.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly emphasized that any cargo with weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine will be a legitimate target for the Russian Aerospace Forces. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that arms supplies would not stop, but would prolong the conflict in Ukraine, and called the position of Western countries harmful and counterproductive.
